The Alzheimer Society of Kenora/Rainy River Chapter is committed to provide educational and support services to
people with Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias, caregivers and the general public. The services include individual
support, information and referral services, support groups, educational workshops and a resource library.
Our Mission
To improve the quality of life of individuals who are affected or who may become affected by Alzheimer's
Disease or related Dementias and their caregivers.

Organization News: please call the office at 807-468-1516/1-800-682-0245(North West Ontario only) for
information on Care Giver Support Groups for your community. In home visits for the purpose of providing disease information
is available by calling the office and setting up an in home or an office visit.

The Kenora based office of the Alzheimer Society of Kenora/Rainy River Districts is responsible to provide education
and support to a large geographic region of the North West of Ontario. This area encompassess the Ontario/Manitoba border
to the west, the Community of Ignace to the east, Fort Frances/Rainy River to the south and Hudson Bay to the north.
This area as well includes about fifty-one First Nation Communities. Therefore help from volunteers is always welcome
in meeting the needs of this unique geographic region.
The Society is in need of volunteers. If you have an interest in volunteering some of your time and abilities then
please call Margaret Schonewille, Executive Director. The Society's, Public Education Co-ordinator/Family Support
Worker is available for training events both for the professional and those who provide care at home to a loved one.
Please call the Society's office to obtain information on the possible training modules and available times for your community.

Becoming a Member
Membership in the Society is open to all persons. The membership fees as established by the Board of Directors are: Individual
$15 and Organization $25.
You may contribute by: Visa, MasterCard or Cheque.
